Far Infrared Sauna
Conventional Sauna

Far Infrared Sauna: Simply plugs into a 13amp mains socket
Conventional Sauna: Needs to be wired up with 180 degree heat resistant cabling for the lights and stove.

Far Infrared Sauna: Heated to a range of 110° to 130°F. Leaving the air comfortable to breathe.
Conventional Sauna: Heated to a range of 180° to 235°F. The air can become uncomfortable to breathe.

Far Infrared Sauna: Warm up period of 10 to 15 minutes. Means a far infrared sauna can be used whenever you like and the cost of heating up is much less than a conventional sauna.
Conventional Sauna: Warm up period of between 30 and 90 minutes. Means that you have to plan when to use the sauna. Costly initial warm-up

Far Infrared Sauna: Approx 20% of the far infrared energy heats the air the remainder heats the person. Means a much lower running cost than a conventional sauna.
Conventional Sauna: Heats the air first and the air heats the person. So not as effective at heating the person. Higher running cost than the far infrared sauna.

Far Infrared Sauna: You produce 2-3 times the volume of sweat of a conventional sauna. Means better detoxification as more toxins can be driven out through the extra volume.
Conventional Sauna: ½ to 1/3 volume of sweat of a far infrared sauna.

Far Infrared Sauna: No water is needed to create steam or to cool you down. So Less likelihood of mould growing in your house due to the sauna humidity.
Conventional Sauna: Steam and water vapour in the air bring increased risk of mould growth. Mould creates its own toxins.

Far Infrared Sauna: Heat goes deeper which gives a beneficial cardiovascular workout as well as providing detoxification.
Conventional Sauna: Heat is on the surface of the skin – no cardiovascular workout

You Can Benefit From Using an Infrared Sauna Too
Far infrared saunas can even be used by heart patients. Obviously having checked with their doctors first!
The reason?
It`s because the high air temperatures of a conventional sauna is likely to be uncomfortable for heart patients. The lower temperatures in a far infrared sauna make it a much more pleasant experience.

The Japanese are keen users of far infrared saunas and they have done vast amounts of research to check its safety and its use in promoting health and healing.

Far Infrared Studies (Clinical Research Cases)
In the first clinical study by the First Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Kagoshima University , Kagoshima , Japan Nanpuh Hospital, Kagoshima , Japan reported that repeated 60°C sauna treatment improves clinical symptoms in patients with chronic heart failure.

A further clinical study reported in Journal of the American College of Cardiology (2002; 39:754-759) concluded that repeated far infrared sauna treatment improves vascular endothelial function, resulting in an improvement in cardiac function and clinical symptoms.
